Professional Dairy Producers Foundation Announces Grant Awards
Grants to support programs educating producers, students and consumers
MARCH 7, 2022 - DAIRY NEWS – Professional Dairy Producers Foundation (PDPF), also known as Dairy’s Foundation®, has awarded grants to three programs focused on building healthy and vibrant dairy communities.
“We are excited to provide funding to programs that are making a difference in dairy communities across the country,” said Brian Forrest, PDPF board chair and dairy producer from Stratford, Wis. “Dairy’s Foundation is made possible by generous support by dairy producers and businesses who understand the critical importance of continuing education for dairy producers, nurturing the next generation of dairy leaders and strengthening the bond with consumers and communities.”
The following programs will receive funding:
  • Animal Ag Alliance, Arlington Virginia: Grant awarded for the Animal Ag Allies Communication Training to support one dairy specific speaker and for dairy curriculum development with their training.
  • Farm Technology Days, Wisconsin: Grant awarded for educational signage, training materials, cordless microphones (for tours), and dairy product promotional brochure to educate local consumers about what happens on a dairy farm.
  • Wolfe’s Neck Center for Agriculture and the Environment, Freeport, Maine: Grant awarded for curriculum development for the 2022-2023 Farm Discovery School program, which will bring dairy-focused on-site educational programming to middle school students.
Dairy’s Foundation funds educational programs and initiatives that are consistent with its strategic direction set by dairy producers.  The foundation’s support is focused in three key areas: raising up the next generation of professional dairy producers, growing and maintaining public trust in our people and products, and building the skills of our dairy producers.
Applications for PDPF grants are accepted on an ongoing basis, with the next deadline on June 1, 2022. Organizations with a tax status of 501(c)(3) or (5) may apply for grants up to $5,000. Grant criteria and application forms can be found at www.dairyfoundation.org.
The Professional Dairy Producers Foundation was established by Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin in 2002 as a way to raise funds and award grants for educational programs. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) entity. For information on programs funded and ways to donate, visit www.dairyfoundation.org.
